Our children's badminton classes run across 4 venues in Western and South Sydney with afternoon sessions from Monday to Friday — designed to fit around school hours.
Coached by Lukas Defolky — former Australian #1 and BWF Open Grade certified — our junior badminton program develops technique, fitness, and competitive skills in a positive, age-appropriate environment. Students as young as 6 are welcome, and our high school program takes players through to tournament-level competition.

Junior Program — Age Groups
Primary School
Ages 6–12
Fun-first learning — correct grip, basic footwork, serve, rally and court awareness. Sessions focus on building a love for badminton and solid foundations that prevent bad habits forming early.
High School
Ages 13–18
Competitive development — tactical play, fitness conditioning, match preparation and tournament entry guidance. Several LD Badminton students have gone on to represent NSW at junior level.
Pricing — Kids Group Training
+ $40 annual registration fee for new members (once per year). Court hire and shuttlecocks included in all sessions.

- Correct racket grip, swing mechanics and badminton-specific footwork from day one

Lukas is the Coach and Founder of LD Badminton — a former Australia Number 1 Men's Singles and Doubles player and Oceania Championships Men's Doubles Champion. He holds a Working With Children Check and has been coaching since 2009. His junior students have gone on to win Under 13, Under 15, Under 17, and Under 19 National Championship titles.

Does my child need any badminton experience to join?
No experience needed. Our kids badminton classes in Sydney welcome complete beginners from age 6. Sessions are structured to suit every level in the group.
Is the coach Working With Children Check certified?
Yes. Lukas Defolky holds a current NSW Working With Children Check. All sessions are conducted in a safe, supervised environment at accredited badminton centres.
What should my child bring to sessions?
Sports clothing, non-marking court shoes, and a water bottle. Shuttlecocks are included in the price. Bring your own racket — or let us know in advance and we can arrange one for your child's first session.
Can my child try a session before committing to a term?
Yes — book a single trial session at the $52 rate. Just note it's a trial when registering and we'll make sure your child is placed in the right age group.
Do you offer private coaching for kids as well?
Yes. Private badminton coaching is available for children of any age and is a great complement to group sessions for kids who want to progress faster or prepare for competition.
